I think the r...I've never tried this with kale. I think the reason it works so well with lettuce is that you put the core of the lettuce head into the water and it can take water up into the plant. Kale grows a little different in that the leaves grow from a central point and it does not have a real "head" like lettuce does. However, you might be able to bundle the kale leaves into bunches and put them in a cup of water, like this.
